Perc Testing

A Percolation (Perc) Test is the first step in settign up a septic system.  A perc test determines the absorption rate of soil for a septic drain field.  The results of a perc test are required to properly design a septic system. In general, sandy soil will absorb more water than soil with a high concentration of clay or where the water table is close to the surface.

Before purchasing land for the purpose of building, you should conduct a perc test to make sure that the ground is suitable for a septic system.
